AV experts GLO
With our latest design hot off the press and into the hands of new client, GLO, we sat down with Soap’s Design Lead, Laurie Edwards, to talk about some of the studio’s latest – and most luxurious – brochureware designs.
Client: GLO, who specialise in high end audio visual, smart lighting, smart control and bespoke home technology systems.
Brief: The brief itself was pretty straight forward. GLO needed a creative studio that could layout, design and print elegant and engaging brochureware on some very tight timelines.
“Producing beautiful brochureware for clients is something we do all the time,” says Edwards. “The challenge with this brief was how quickly the team at GLO needed us to turn this around – but we knew we could do it.”
Context: “GLO already had their brand identity in place,” explains Edwards. “But when it came to responding to client requests with pitches and proposals, they needed to move quickly and were feeling frustrated with how slowly their existing creative agency was producing brochures for them.”
GLO needed a partner that could take their brand guidelines and exquisite photography and quickly turn them into beautiful brochureware that would build their brand and appeal to existing and potential customers. We were only too happy to help.
Creative Solution: Edwards’ approach was to design the brochures with a spacious and contemporary feel that reflects the homes featured within and highlights GLO’s existing photography. “The photography really speaks for itself, so with sparse written information on each page we wanted to give the imagery space to really shine,” he says.
Each brochure is printed on matte laminated paper, with spot UV highlights on the covers – “to give a premium, tactile quality that matches GLO’s high-end offering.”
One brochure quickly turned into a number of brochures for GLO and the team loved experimenting with black and white backgrounds to give each type of collateral its own unique feel and sense of drama.
“Personally, the thing I enjoy most about working with GLO is the cool subject matter,” says Edwards. “It is such a contemporary brand and it really is a pleasure to design brochures that highlight the incredible work that they do.”
