It’s always great to get an opportunity to work with other businesses in your local community, especially when that business is a historic landmark that many of us Soapies hold fond childhood memories of.
So, when we were approached by Clevedon Pier back in April to work with them on a marketing campaign to help drive awareness to their recently reopened Glass Box Cafe and historic Pagoda, we couldn’t wait to get stuck in!
After a long period of being closed due to Covid, but with social restrictions now easing, their plan was to re-open both outlets with a new fish & chips, drinks, and snacks offering that they hoped would entice more visitors to the Pier.
With a busy summer expected ahead, and potentially hundreds of visitors expected to the area each day, the marketing campaign needed to clearly communicate their new food offering, whilst also positioning the Pier as a destination for both locals and visitors alike.
With a brand identity and design already in place, the brief for soap was to develop a series of creatives in line with their existing brand, to be used across multiple channels including large format banners, posters, leaflets, menus, labels, social media graphics, and other print media and digital designs.
Having used illustration in previous marketing campaigns, the client opted to go down the photography route, choosing an image of the Pier that they felt truly captured the Clevedon Pier experience, whilst also showing off the Glass Box, a modern architectural delight that is hidden from view by passers-by!
The campaign itself was launched in June and so far the Pier is pleased to report a healthy trade for both the Glass Box Cafe and the Pagoda. With the number of visitors set to soar this summer, we wish the Pier every success for the future!
Tom Vaughan coordinated the development on behalf of The Pier and said that “it was great to work with a professional local agency like Soap and we are pleased with the results so far!”
